how much do i want one of these?

Whilst doing research on the name for these contraptions ["Bead Maze" is so much easier to say than "you know those things like a colourful out of shape abacus that you play with in the doctor's waiting room"] I stumbled upon these. Drool. I can imagine many happy hours spent with these. You can find more maze toys here.

extending the blackboard

Tired with feeling only half moved into this house I decided to finish the blackboard in the toilet today. No longer do we have to look at that god awful stencilled frieze.

happiness is

Finally I found my favourite childhood TV show "Grim Tales presented by Rik Mayall" on Youtube. This show left the biggest impression on me and is almost solely responsible for me wanting to be an animator. Eighteen years later it is easy to see the influence it must have had on me... especially in this episode "The Spirit in the Bottle".

flash bulb

I should have probably realised than manually sparking a vintage flash bulb was not the best idea I have had.I have become over zealous with my newfound electrical prowess. Luckily I lost nothing but my dignity when i jumped a mile as it ignited and shattered in my hands. I wish I had a slow motion camera to capture it. They really make the noise like they do in the movies.
